Thomas King Obituary, Death – Massachusetts Postmaster Remembered for a Proud Career of Service
Thomas Francis “Tom” King Jr. has died at the age of 83, leaving family, friends and members of the communities where he lived and worked to remember a life marked by family, education and a long career with the United States Postal Service. His obituary was published by O’Neill Funeral Home in Middleborough, Massachusetts.
Born May 19, 1943, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Tom was the son of the late Thomas Francis King Sr. and Jean (Mizejewski) King. He was raised in Dorchester and went on to graduate from Boston College High School before earning his degree from Northeastern University.

Tom built a long and respected career with the United States Postal Service. He worked in Abington and East Bridgewater before moving to Whitman, where he served as postmaster. He later became postmaster in Randolph, where he completed his career before retiring.
His obituary noted that Tom took considerable pride in his work and in the friendships he developed throughout his years with the Postal Service. His professional life brought him into contact with many people across the communities he served.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Jean King, and his brother, Kenneth King.
Funeral Services
Family and friends were invited to attend visitation on Thursday, September 10, from 4 to 7 p.m. at O’Neill Funeral Home, 59 Peirce Street, Middleborough.
A Mass of Christian Burial was scheduled for Friday, September 11, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church of Saint Isidore Parish in Middleborough. Following the Mass, family and friends were invited to gather at Fireside Grille for a celebration of Tom’s life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Middleborough Council on Aging’s Meals on Wheels program.
